About Nordo M. Nissi III
Nordo Nissi III is a financial advisor at his firm, Pleasant Street Wealth Advisors LLC, where, outside of finance, he has a multifaceted career stemming from his entrepreneurial drive that has roots in real estate investing and development.
Alongside his career as a financial advisor, Nordo Nissi works in real estate development with his wife, operating Pleasant Street Management, LLC. Nordo first became interested in the world of construction as a child when – growing up – he would do work for a local contractor. The time he spent on these projects sparked his interest, and – as the oldest of six children – he quickly put his newfound skills to use working around the house and renovating the yard.
After getting married, Nordo Nissi and his wife purchased their first home, a beautiful, old house in her hometown of Rye, New York. After the owner passed away, the family had left it relatively abandoned, with no one occupying the property for several years. The property – which came with a pair of raccoons living in the attic – needed a lot of care and attention, so the two got to work.
Throughout the years, every property they’ve purchased has been an estate sale house. They like to take older homes and restore them to their former glory. Working in real estate development, Nordo Nissi takes pride in his focus on the environment and commitment to finding more sustainable ways to build and develop. He and his wife focus primarily on older properties – those built in the late 1800s and early 1900s – and they only purchase ones that have what his wife deems “good bones,” or solid structural integrity.
One of the ways that Nordo is able to focus on sustainability is by not being a “house flipper” but rather a renovator, someone looking to build a home. All too often, house flippers will refurbish using newer but still cheap materials that will need to be replaced in a few years. By approaching each real estate project with the mentality of calling it home, they’re able to build a sense of permanency. They also only look to sell to individuals who aren’t looking to make drastic changes for themselves; by ensuring the properties are going to remain relatively the same and lengthening the life of the building materials, Nordo is able to help cut down on waste.
In 2017, together with his wife, Nordo Nissi founded Pleasant Street Management, LLC, to manage the work they would put into renovating their new homes. All of the contractors, subs, and suppliers are paid through their business as the two develop the properties.
